Facial wrinkles are a thing of the past thanks to BOTOX Cosmetic, a revolutionary procedure that can help reduce the signs of aging by using a process known as cosmetic denervation. This involves injecting the small facial muscles that cause wrinkles with BOTOX itself.
What Happens Prior to Surgery
Before surgery, we’ll make sure to evaluate and go over your medical history in order to get a better understanding of your health. We’ll also conduct a complete examination of your eyes so that we can determine what the best injection sites will be. In addition to that, we’ll be available to discuss any concerns you have with the process.
The areas that you want work done on will be marked and digitally photographed so that we’ll be able to see just how much improvement they received after surgery.
The Botox Cosmetic Procedure
A BOTOX Cosmetic procedure is virtually painless, meaning there’s no need for anesthesia. The only feeling is generally just a very small sting at the injection sites. The BOTOX Cosmetic effect is not permanent and will generally need to be repeated around two to three times per year to retain the effect, but research does suggest that long term use of BOTOX Cosmetic will generally lead to effects that last longer. Patients 65 years or older may not experience dramatic results and the procedure is only used to reduce expression lines, not to repair sagging skin.
